The Unicorn Yacht was eventually decided on ….. the one and only boat Garry liked was a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 54 DS. Italian internal design yacht made by the French which is no long in production, as we were never buying a new yacht this was perfect. The yacht has a deck saloon which means more head height and more storage under foot. Spacious lounging area for all his friends to sit and chilli when they come on board to visit. The only small problem was the small budget £100k was not enough, as prices ranged from £200k and up. Garry instructed Martin to search the world for a 54DS within budget, mission impossible begins the sound equipment needs to be sold to increase the budget.
More months passed by, lots of 54DS found for sale none in budget and no kind owner would reduce their price enough for us. Boris decided we could actual go boat shopping so a trip to Southampton Boat show was planned on the 15th Sept 2021, this is when the sticking pins into yourself ritual began. Looking at Yachts you can’t afford to buy is a painful experience, idea was to look at other makes to see if Garry could live on another make of yacht in budget like a Bavaria or Beneteau.
Obviously all the boats at the boat show were out of price range and Garry not taking the fancy of any other brands, pokey Ikea boats with big tags apparently.
More searching the internet for the ideal unicorn needed, more months go by waiting for the world to open back up and the sound equipment to be sold.
